In the age of the Mahabharata, why were the Kauravas not afraid of Krishna if he was known to be an incarnation of God, and why was Duryodhana so eager to fight him?
Firstly, not everyone knew Krishna was divine. Only a few individuals were aware of this truth. Most people who encountered Krishna noticed his extraordinary qualities, but they did not realize he was more than a normal human.
Only those with greater knowledge, such as powerful sages or divine beings like Lord Hanuman and Parashurama, recognized Krishna as Lord Vishnu.
As for Duryodhana, he never considered Krishna to be divine or possessing supernatural powers. From the beginning, Duryodhana saw Krishna as a brilliant tactician and influential politician who had significant sway throughout the land. Duryodhana was displeased with Krishna because he was the cousin of the Pandavas and always supported them.
During the time of the war, driven by his enmity towards the Pandavas, Duryodhana failed to comprehend Krishna’s divine nature and dismissed his actions as mere tricks. He was eager to fight Krishna because he believed that if he could defeat him, it would prove his superiority and help him become an influential king.
